Communication Specilaists have just completed their ninth year providing The Tour of Britain with their event management communications. The amazing route took place from the 15th to 22nd September.

In 2004 there was a key moment for the sport of road cycling; The Tour of Britain staged a major race, the first in the country since 1999. 96 riders lined up in the north-west of England for a race that would take in two of the home nations over the course of five days before finishing in London.

The race in 2004 consisted of 5 stages:
Stage 1 – Manchester – Manchester
Stage 2 – Leeds – Sheffield
Stage 3 – Bakewell – Nottingham
Stage 4 – Newport to Celtic Manor
Stage 5 – London

Since 2004 the race began to add more and more stages, meaning the 2013 Tour of Britain had 8 stages starting in Scotland – Cumbria – Knowsley – Stoke-On-Trent – Wales – Devon – Surrey, ending in London.

Congratulations to this year’s winner Sir Bradley Wiggins (Team Name: Sky Procycling) with an impressive time of 29h 45′ 22″.
